“After more than 20 years of chronic neck, shoulder and arm pain, I discovered Imogen Ragone and the Alexander Technique. With Imogen’s hands-on guidance and instruction in the mindful use of my body with the Alexander Technique, I am now 95% pain free, not only in my neck and shoulder area but also in other problematic areas of my body.”
–Sandie Cooper, retired legal secretary
What will I learn in these classes?
In these classes together we will explore and deepen our understanding and practice of the following concepts, principles and ideas as they relate to how we perform the activities that make up our lives.
- Ease as a key to freedom of movement and great posture!
- The importance of the head-spine relationship.
- Mind-body unity. What we think always has a physical correlate and vice versa.
- Awareness of body and mind.
- Conscious thought as a means for transformation.
- Improving our internal “body map.”
- The idea of doing less – subtracting the tension, habits and behaviors that do not serve us.
- Breathing naturally, and how our breathing is inextricably linked to our posture and functioning.
- Support and energy.
- Using a mindful pause as a means for choice and change.
- Self-care as a priority.
“Working with Imogen and the Alexander Technique helped me release tension, better understand how my movement impacted my back and gave me an overall feeling of wellbeing.”
–Melissa Watkins, President, Out Box Communications

“I just want you to know that I have benefited greatly from your classes…. I do believe that what I’ve learned has afforded me improved health overall, not to mention how much it’s helped me from an ambulatory aspect. I have learned much, and applied everything. It has improved the quality of my life immensely.”
–Mary Jo Duszak, Wellness Coach, Isagenix

“I sincerely enjoyed meeting you and learning the basics of the Alexander technique. I didn’t know what to expect but I was pleased at how simple and beneficial it is. I honestly thought the class would consist of observing our normal behaviors and you saying, sit up straight, stop slouching, etc. I was pleasantly wrong! “
When and where do the classes take place?
The classes take place in my home studio in the north Wilmington neighborhood of Chalfonte on Wednesdays from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by half an for tea time together. Upcoming class dates are August 2 and 9. Classes will then resume September 13 and run through the fall.
“Imogen’s method has been so beneficial for me. When I tried to do the “classic” inhibiting and directing before, it felt like another imposition — forcing myself to get it right. With what Imogen has been presenting, it’s all about BEING free — enjoying it now, not when I’m perfect.”
—Joyce Goldman, Translator
What is the cost?
The cost per class is $29.
Classes are limited to a maximum of 6 people.
“I really enjoyed the class, and will practice the techniques we learned there. My only regret is that I didn’t know about it while I was still working.”
–Ellen L, retired DuPont sales manager
What are your credentials?
Hi! I’m Imogen. I am a teacher of the Alexander Technique and entrepreneur, and the founder of BodyIntelligence. BodyIntelligence is my particular approach to presence, body language, self-care and mindset (and more!) primarily using the Alexander Technique, an evidence-based mind-body approach to using our whole selves consciously, efficiently, with freedom, ease and poise. I am particularly interested in helping women like myself manage overwhelm and stress, and have found self-care to be a crucial component of this. I am the creator of the 30-Day Constructive Rest Challenge. Constructive Rest is a simple, yet powerful practice, and a fabulous self-help tool, which, especially when practiced regularly, provides a highly effective way to improve your posture, release tension, and calm your nervous system. I do it every day and consider it a vital tool to help me be as efficient and productive as possible for myself and my business. A Constructive Rest session is included in these classes.
