Meets the Last Wednesday of the Month
7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
My book club started meeting in January of 2013. We’re an informal group who meet once a month to discuss a book about self-development, productivity, well-being and other inspirational themes. We have delved into vulnerability, presence, the body-mind connection, the Alexander Technique, and how to create and change a habit.
We have enjoyed reading books such as Presence by Amy Cuddy, Thrive by Arianna Huffington, Quiet by Susan Cain, Rising Strong by Brené Brown, and Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin.
Our next book is Braving the Wilderness by Brené Brown.
“True belonging doesn’t require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are.” Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives—experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization. With her trademark mix of research, storytelling, and honesty, Brown will again change the cultural conversation while mapping a clear path to true belonging.

Braving the Wilderness is available from Amazon and most other book stores.
The BodyIntelligence Book Club is free to join, and I host it in my home. The only cost involved is the price of the book/s. We’d love to have you join us! If you’re interested in joining, or simply want to find out more, please get in touch. Guests are always welcome.
Not in Wilmington?
We also have a virtual home within my Facebook group, the BodyIntelligence Community, which allows for discussion between meetings, and also allows people anywhere in the world to join in. The group’s main focus is self-care and personal development, which ties right in with the subject matter of the books we read.
